For this poster, we wanted to play on the mass social fear for sharks and shark attacks that the movie Jaws created in the 1970s. In fact, there hasn’t been a single shark attack in Cape Cod, where the movie was filmed, since the 1930s. Unfortunately, just as we had finalized the language on the poster, a man in his 20s was attacked and died in hospital from a shark attack (NYTimes). The white tag line used to announce the long track record of years without an attack, but we had to change it, so we decided to list the statistic, because despite the fear, the odds are extremely low. Less than 100 across the world each year, and this includes the shark infested waters off Africa!
Based on a typical trip for a family of three staying three nights in a hotel, with food, light entertainment and other misc. expenses, exchanging for USD cash at Nour will yields a difference large enough to buy a lunch at a decent restaurant.
